Current programs

RAPAD Power Grid

RAPAD’s seven councils and CopperString’s founders have agreed to work with landholders and communities to establish an estimated 930-kilometre clean energy corridor to secure jobs and growth for western Queensland.

The Go Far Out campaign aims to overcome the challenges CWQ is currently experiencing with recruitment and regional promotion.

CWQ Regional Business Group

The Central West Queensland Regional Business Group is platform facilitated by RAPAD and driven by local business members. It is open to anyone who works in or with business in our region.

Barcaldine Renewable Energy Zone

RAPAD has taken the first steps to put our region ahead of the nation when it comes to fostering industries powered by renewables.

Queensland Feral Pest Initiative – Cluster fencing

Between 2011 and 2015, during widespread drought, the number of people living in the region aged 54 or younger declined by 12.5%. RAPAD and other concerned members of the community held meetings searching for a solution.

We established RAPAD Skilling, a registered training organisation, in 2012 to respond to a need for in-region training in tourism, hospitality and civil construction.

Rural Financial Counselling Service North Queensland and Small Business Financial Counselling Service

RAPAD has been the provider for the Federal and State Government funded Rural Financial Counselling Service for almost two decades.
