RESQ+

In 2013, RAPAD and Employment Services Queensland were successful in their bid to deliver the Federal government’s Remote Job and Communities Program in Central Western Queensland. RAPAD recognised that the RJCP as it was then called, had huge potential to influence and enhance the employment prospects of those seeking work in the region.

Using RAPAD’s experience in providing training, skilling and employment-related programs and Employment Services Queensland’s knowledge of employment services, RAPAD Employment Services Queensland became the vehicle through which the contract was delivered in the Central West.

Project’s value to CWQ

Some eight years later, RESQ+ as it is now known, is one of the leading providers of employment programs in the country. In 2016 it expanded its operations into South West Queensland and is currently looking for additional business opportunities on the Darling Downs and Cairns regions.

RESQ+ ensures there is a pathway for our residents into work and a way for employers to foster and develop growing talent. In a region where underemployment can be an issue for the economy, RESQ+ is putting its shoulder to the wheel.

RESQ+ also supports initiatives and events in the community. RESQ + is an active partner in building and maintaining healthy, thriving and culturally diverse regional communities.

The entity is now 50% owned by indigenous stakeholders.
