Two new permanent ranger positions in Central West Queensland

RAPAD welcomes two new permanent Queensland National Parks Ranger positions based in Longreach – a positive step for local employment and the management of our region’s expanding national parks estate.

The Principal Ranger and Senior Ranger positions now open for applications.

Following the establishment of new national parks across Central West Queensland, RAPAD initiated discussions with senior departmental representatives to highlight local concerns including the importance of appropriate management resources and having positions based within the region.

We are pleased to see progress on this important regional priority which follows a positive outcome of our advocacy for our opal industry late last year.

Having experienced personnel based locally will help support effective management of these significant areas, strengthen engagement with local communities.

RAPAD appreciates the continued engagement and constructive discussions with senior departmental representatives and looks forward to building on this progress.

We encourage suitably qualified and experienced locals to explore these opportunities:

Principal Ranger, Rangelands (AO7)
Senior Ranger (AO5)
