RAPAD Board meeting wraps up in Brisbane

It’s been a busy week in the State’s capital for RAPAD hosting our board meeting 26-27 November and concluding with the AGM followed by our annual Friends of RAPAD function.

Below are some highlights from across the week in Brisbane.

Board meeting agenda

We bring our meeting to Brisbane at this important time of year, lining up with the final Parliamentary sitting of the year and end of year schedules with key stakeholders and partners.

This year it has been particularly valuable as we reconnect with agency and departments following the recent election, new government and ministerial portfolio changes.

COWs meeting

CEOs of the West, or COWs, met ahead of the RAPAD Board meeting kick off on day two of our agenda.

The group comes together to discuss issues, ideas and solutions of common interest across their organisations, offering support and identifying opportunities to collaborate or find efficiencies.

RAPAD plays a facilitating role bringing together groups strategic importance across the region, including a HR Alliance, IT Alliance as well as COWs.

Meeting with Ministers

Making the most of our Brisbane agenda, it was an early start on the morning of 28 November. We had the pleasure of meeting with the new Minister for Primary Industries, Hon Tony Perrett MP, along with our local member, Assistant Minister for Primary Industry Development, Water and Western Queensland, Sean Dillon MP, at Parliament House.

Our thanks to Tony and Sean for taking the time to fit us into their busy schedules while Parliament is sitting.

Their respective portfolios are of great importance to our region, its economy and communities and we look forward to working in partnership with the Crisafulli government to deliver for our region.

Our thanks to Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) for once again providing our venue, and to our presenters and attendees.

A more detailed wrap up of our Board meetings are available in our quarterly Board Communiques which can be found on our website, filtering to ‘Board Communiques’ at: https://rapad.com.au/publications

Our final Board meeting of 2024 will be virtual on 20 December.
