Advance Regional Innovation Program

RAPAD was the lead agent for Outback Queensland’s Advancing Regional Innovation Program funded by Advance Queensland an initiative of the Queensland Government.

RAPAD was engaged to deliver the three-year project across outback Queensland (one of 12 regions across the state) and achieved this by collaborating and partnering with South West RED and McKinlay Shire Council.

Project’s value to CWQ

Between 2017 and 2021 the Advancing Regional Innovation Program sustained and targetted attention was given to the region’s digital capacity and capability, emerging technologies that would enhance the region but also provide opportunities and support was provided for emerging entrepreneurs.

Some of the major achievements of the program were;
* the creation of Outback Hubs.
* drone and unmanned aerial vehicles events held in the region that welcomed locals and international visitors.
* an entrepreneur in residence.
* a multitude of Startup Weekends, Hackathons, workshops for entrepreneurs and innovators.
